Music – A healing to soul. An explosive expression to one’s feelings, something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we are from, we all love music, in fact few of them would agree if I say they love the sound of music of different culture than their own. I personally like more of Punjabi beats than Bollywood and when it comes to relaxing or just listening to happy tunes I prefer my own Gujarati songs.  This is something I have discovered about myself lately.

We can all think of that one song we love the most or it’s our all-time favorite in any mood or state of mind. It triggers and emotional response. Numerous studies have confirmed that music is perhaps the best healing and can benefit our mental health. If you notice yourself, you unknowingly just keep humming one particular song the whole day that you might have heard in the morning radio or somewhere near you. Music can also be considered as a feasible treatment for depression. Type of music depends on your mood. If you are happy, you would automatically choose those songs from your playlists which makes you dance or jump high. Similarly if you are heart-broken the playlist would be sad. It would be better if you listen to some good tunes to light up your mood and get back to normal without leading yourself to some more negativity to what wrong happened.

Benefits of music are plenty if you know and can help you reduce pain and anxiety. It is kind of drug that even if it hits you feel no pain. Such thing should be marketable isn’t it? A cheap intervention, safe and noninvasive thing one should always keep. Nowadays if you see parents, they choose music as their best mechanism to keep their child away from misbehaving or just to let them stay quiet for some time while they can finish their work. Practicing one musical instrument would be the best thing. Certain songs have the ability to remind us of certain periods or events in our lives, some that make is smile, some we would rather like to forget. Some of them have the habit of listening to music in their all-time such as in the office, home on the way etc. corporates have also cultivated the habit of playing slow sound music in their offices, and it would relax the guests coming in, even the employees would feel fresh and energetic to work with positive attitude.

Sometimes the vocals are so powerful that they can replace and convey the words we are unable to say to our loved ones. They are merely called as dedications to our loved ones. Songs you listen to have at least one person in your mind you think of while understanding the lyrics. It is also said that the lyrics are better understood when we are sad otherwise it is just the music that we count on to stay happy. At times it helps me fall asleep in the night. A simple piece of sound can help you look at the world in a whole different way with a smile.

PS: “Music Imitates Life, and Life Imitates Music.”
